BrakeSafe Portable Brake Tester with Built-In Printer
The Turnkey BrakeSafe is a DVSA-approved portable brake tester designed for use across cars, HGVs and PSVs. With a built-in printer and intuitive operation, it delivers accurate, compliant brake efficiency testing wherever your fleet operates — no workshop required.
Developed in collaboration with the DVSA to meet the trailer brake testing requirements set out in the Guide to Maintaining Roadworthiness, BrakeSafe has also undergone successful trials with comparisons against roller brake testers, giving operators and test facilities confidence in its accuracy and reliability.

- Acceleration profiling capability — records and graphs vehicle acceleration and time to reach a given speed
- Self-levelling and self-contained — can be positioned anywhere in the vehicle with no connections to the vehicle required for basic operation
Data Management
All test results are automatically annotated with the date, time, vehicle identity, test conditions and brake type. The unit can be pre-loaded with:
- Up to 99 vehicle names
- 70 trailer names
- 16 test conditions
- 4 brake types
- 8 examiner names
Each entry can be edited directly via the instrument’s single-click control. Test data is saved to a 2GB SD memory card and 4MB internal memory, allowing direct transfer to a PC or later retrieval from the card.
Software
Additional PC software is required to view saved data. Compatible with Windows only (not compatible with ChromeOS). Please contact us for more information.

Please note: The pass and fail warning lights must not be used as part of the MOT test.
