When working on electric or hybrid vehicles, standing on non-insulated flooring is not an option. This Class 2 insulating rubber safety mat provides a certified barrier between the operative and ground, protecting against electric shock during high-voltage vehicle maintenance.
Independently tested and certified to BS EN 61111, it offers safe protection up to 17kV AC, making it suitable for EV and hybrid vehicle servicing in transport workshops, fleet depots and commercial garages. Both sides of the mat are slip resistant, with the ribbed side used as the upper surface.
Before every use, the mat must be visually inspected by a competent person for damage including cracks, tears, pinholes or contamination that could affect its dielectric properties. A damaged or contaminated mat must not be used. Electrical work should always be carried out indoors and in dry conditions, with an exclusion zone of at least 1.5 metres maintained around the working area.
The operative must stand on the mat throughout the task, ensuring their feet remain on the mat at all times.
